SIGMA7 presents at 7x24 Exchange Spring 2017 National Conference

June 1st, 2017

Bob Rouleau and Marc Figelman presented a case study on one of our enterprise level data center projects in the grand ballroom of the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort. The presentation entitled, “Embracing Change, a data center case study focused on KAIZEN – Change for the Better.”

The project commenced with a High Density Implementation Study and resulted in an ongoing master plan upgrade and renovation of two (2) data centers for an industry leader in the Fortune 50. Bob and Marc were joined by David Doherty, Senior Facilities Manager Data Center Operations.

SIGMA7 responded to the client’s challenge in operating two legacy data centers which had adequate power and cooling capacity, but were unable to support higher density IT deployments. Following a brief study, the team embarked upon a multi-year master plan to reconfigure and optimize the infrastructure and operational methodology. The team’s foresight and willingness to embrace change are key factors in the ongoing success of this program. The implementation is currently in its sixth year and has proven itself over the test of time.

The KAIZEN approach provided for a transparent design process that included the participation and buy-in of the entire team. The resulted in a flexible, scalable and efficient solution that was able to support the original data center load and maintain performance with current data center trends.
