National Health Insurer Enterprise Data Center

Client: Major Health Insurance Provider

Summary: SIGMA7’s design prioritizes resilience, maintainability, and compliance with local standards for this mission-critical data center located in northern Florida for business and operational requirements.

The enterprise data center facility is subjected to some very serious and potentially dangerous weather conditions. The building is designed to withstand Category-5 hurricanes and F3 tornados with redundant infrastructure systems to ensure 7X24X365 operations.

Systems were designed to accommodate concurrent maintenance to ensure the ongoing and uninterrupted enterprise operations as required by the Client. The electrical infrastructure is designed to true 2N redundancy (including emergency generators), the mechanical infrastructure based on an N+1 topology.

The raised floor and infrastructure were designed in a modular fashion, allowing for the facility to double its size and capacity to 40,000 s.f. as the operation grows and the business expands.

The organizations Command Center, Emergency Operations Room, Administrative Offices, and Management Control Rooms also reside within this hardened and resilient facility.

SIGMA7 design group teamed with a southeastern based AEC company to provide a turn-key solution for this confidential Health Insurance Company.
